The Witcher 3) Celebrates 10 Years with Special Actions from CD Projekt Red
Last Sunday (19), one of CD Projekt Red’s biggest undertakings turned 10 years old. We’re talking about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, elected Game of the Year in 2015 and still a resounding success today.
The game was originally released on May 18, 2015, and consolidated itself as an acclaimed RPG. In the main plot, we accompany Geralt of Rivia on his journey through the war-torn kingdoms, while trying to find Ciri and face the feared Wild Hunt to protect her.
With over 50 million units sold, the game became an absolute success. Thinking about the last years in which many fans followed Geralt’s saga, CD Projekt Red prepared some special actions to celebrate the first decade of The Witcher 3. Starting with the release of a special anniversary trailer of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Besides the special trailer, the public can also watch a commemorative episode of REDstreams, broadcast on this Monday (19), with the participation of the original Geralt of Rivia’s voice actor, Doug Cockle. At this special moment, Cockle remembered a bit of his journey with the game and revisited his iconic voice acting of the White Wolf.
CD Projekt Red spared no effort in celebrating The Witcher 3’s anniversary. Those who like to collect game items will have the chance to guarantee posters, collectibles, and other exclusive arts related to the game. 10 artists who were part of the Witcher franchise will be responsible for these special arts. Among them is Przemysław “TRUST” Trusciński, responsible for designing Geralt’s original appearance in the first game.
Besides this surprise, the Immerse Gamepack from Embody will offer customized spatial audio for The Witcher 3 players. Those who have already acquired the Cyberpunk 2077 Gamepack will receive this novelty for free.
And to close this beginning of celebrations, fans can also take advantage of a new comic book series called The Little Witcher, developed in collaboration with the creative minds behind the game. The story promises to expand the Witcher universe even further, focusing on Geralt creating Ciri in Kaer Morhen with a lighter approach to this environment by fans.
It’s clear that CD Projekt Red has bet big on celebrating 10 years of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. And this is just the beginning, as the developer promises even more novelties soon.
