The Apple seems to have found a solution to one of the main problems of the mysterious foldable iPhone. A report from Business Korea indicates that Samsung has developed a screen with an adequate fold, meeting the American manufacturer’s expectations, which has earned it the right to be the exclusive distributor of the component. However, the final device is expected to hit the market with a hefty price tag.
Previous leaks suggested that Apple was struggling to find a fold with an adequate size for the device’s dimensions, which ultimately halted the project’s progress.
Now that Samsung has resolved the issue, rumors point to the first foldable iPhone arriving in the market in the second half of 2026.
The leaks indicate that the foldable iPhone’s screen will have 7.8 inches when open, while the external display will have around 5.5 inches. As this is a project in development, not many details are available – but it’s expected that the price of this new line of Apple smartphones will be much higher than expected.

Hefty Price Tag
Several analysts are predicting a price tag above $2,000, ranging from $2,100 to $2,300. If expectations prove true, the foldable iPhone would arrive in Brazil for over R$ 12,000, considering the exchange rate and added taxes.
Experts are using the prices of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 as a basis, which internationally range from $1,899 to $2,259, depending on the version.
In Brazil, the prices of the Z Fold 6 can already be found for around R$ 6,500 in its most basic model, meaning it’s considerably more expensive in the international market.
However, it should be noted that this is a smartphone launched almost a year ago and is about to receive its successor in the second half of 2025, naturally causing a depreciation.
