2025-05-22Google presents Flow, a revolutionary video generation platform. This cutting-edge service is built upon the Veo 3 model, announced at Google I/O 2025, enabling users to create cine-quality productions with simple commands.
What is Flow?
Flow is a Google platform that generates cinematic videos using Artificial Intelligence, evolving from VideoFX.
By integrating advanced AI models like Veo, Imagen, and Gemini, this tool serves as a facilitator for scriptwriters, filmmakers, and producers, allowing them to explore their creativity and ideas freely.
How does Google Flow work?
The Google Flow was exclusively developed for Veo, the company’s generative video AI model. Through this, filmmakers and scriptwriters can create clips, characters, and elements to tell their stories with greater realism and consistency.
With Gemini integration, the Flow responds to intuitive commands and common language. Meanwhile, Imagen resources enable text-to-image conversion, making it possible to utilize media from a scene to start a new “filming” process.
What’s the difference between Flow and Sora?
The launch of Flow directly competes with OpenAI’s Sora, with its primary differentiator being the generation of high-resolution videos with audio within the platform, including ambient sounds and character dialogue.
Sora’s premium plans create videos up to 1080p resolution, with productions ranging from 10 to 20 seconds. In contrast, Flow enables users to increase production resolution to 1080p and does not cite a time limit for videos, with some examples shown by Google exceeding 9 minutes.
Who can use Google Flow?
Flow is available to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the USA, with plans to expand to more countries soon, according to Google.
In the Google AI Pro plan, Veo 2 is provided with 100 generations per month, while Google AI Pro offers early access to Veo 3, native audio generation, and a higher usage limit.
