Tecnologia Vestível: O Impacto dos Wearables no Nosso Futuro
2025-03-27Here is the rewritten text:
The Vivo has put an end to unlimited calls and texts on its postpaid plans. With this decision, customers will have 300 minutes of calls and 100 text messages per month without additional cost. Once the limit is reached, a fee will be charged for using these services.
The information about the control plans was revealed by Tecnoblog, and it was confirmed that the measure also applies to postpaid packages.
In the case of postpaid offers, the table with the plans found on the operator’s website does not mention calls and messages, except for the part that introduces the international roaming service Vivo Travel.
However, when clicking on “More Information”, the “Allowance” menu says that local and long-distance calls with Vivo’s code (15) for mobile and fixed lines have a cost of R$ 0.10 per minute, but “combined plans with data have 300 minutes included, valid for all operators”.
The report analyzed all the regulations for postpaid plans available on Vivo’s website. In common, the documents mention the same issue about calls, and also point out that national SMS and MMS have a cost of R$ 0.10 per message and that “combined plans with data have 100 SMS included, valid for all operators”.

Control and Easy Prime
In relation to control, the table of packages on Vivo’s website informs that the plans have “calls and SMS to any operator in Brazil”, without mentioning the limit. But, when accessing the “More Information” area, the explanation about the 300 minutes also appears in the “Allowance” menu.
The regulations on Vivo’s website bring the same terms about the quota for calls and SMS as the postpaid options. On the other hand, in the case of control segment packages, there are still legacy documents that mention unlimited calls and messages.
The same applies to Vivo Easy Prime offers, which mention that there are “calls and SMS included for any operator in Brazil”, but there is no detail about the allowance in the “More Information” menu.
However, the regulations have the same information about the monthly allowance of 300 minutes and 100 messages.
Uncertain start of the allowance
In recent years, both Vivo and other mobile phone companies have offered unlimited calls and messages. This standard ended the offers of the past, where customers also chose plans based on the available minutes and SMS packages, in addition to internet.
Today, the main differentials between plans focus primarily on the data package and extra features, such as streaming service subscriptions, app usage without consuming data, and more.
With the end of unlimited calls and SMS, Vivo is making a return to an old behavior in the sector. However, it is not clear when the operator started applying the allowances, as there is no specific date informed in the documents.
Furthermore, those who signed up for plans until 2024 apparently still have unlimited services. Taking my case as an example, I signed up for the Vivo Post plan with Globoplay in December last year, and the invoices inform that calls and message sending are unlimited.
The same occurs with another line of the Vivo Total Family 2 plan, signed on the same day, which also has unlimited calls and SMS.
The report also analyzed the contracts of postpaid and control segments of other clients signed before 2025, and none of them mention the 300 minutes and 100 messages of allowance.
Contacted by our team, Vivo only informed that the commercial conditions of the current plans are available on its website.
“Any new condition and end of contracted periods are communicated to users according to the rules in force and also through the company’s official contact channels”, it said.
The operator, however, did not inform if the measure affects all old plans and clients, and did not inform when the change came into effect. It also did not explain the reason for the end of unlimited calls and messages.
Claro and TIM offer unlimited plans
Unlike Vivo, Claro and TIM have plans that offer unlimited calls and SMS to any operator, as long as they use the same code (21 and 41, respectively).
Both operators still have unlimited WhatsApp. Recently, Vivo also removed the mention of using the messenger without consuming the data allowance from its website.
