The Now Bar, Samsung’s notification area on mobile devices, which debuted in One UI 7, may receive new features in One UI 8. According to a leak by Toprak on X, the space is expected to gain a notice for the “Do Not Disturb” function and a shortcut to view call details.
The goal of the Now Bar is to provide users with personalized content without the need to unlock the screen, similar to the Dynamic Island on iPhone.
The X post on Tuesday (6) indicates that One UI 8 will have a call log, displaying the call time and contact.
Furthermore, there will be an update to show if the “Do Not Disturb” mode is active, but it’s unclear if the feature will work as a button to disable notification pause.
Today, for comparison, One UI 7 only indicates if a mode, such as sleep, relax, exercise, among others, is active.
In April, other images of One UI 8 were revealed, with small visual changes. It’s expected that the update will be based on Android 16, whose final version is scheduled for the first half of this year.
However, Samsung has not confirmed the speculation.

One UI 8 Beta to Arrive Sooner Than Expected
The One UI 8 Beta, an update for Samsung’s Android 16 devices, is expected to arrive sooner than expected, in June.
The release of the first Beta version earlier than expected represents an anticipation of a few months in the schedule compared to last year, when the manufacturer started public testing of One UI 7 in December.
Furthermore, Samsung may skip the One UI 7 and go directly to One UI 8, not adopting the strategy of the One UI 6, which launched the One UI 6.1 a few months after its debut.
