It has been speculated that the new devices will use advanced “Low-Pressure Injection Molding” (LIPO) technology, which allows for thinner borders without compromising the display components.

The LIPO technology is already used in the Xiaomi 15 series and advanced smartphones from rival brands. However, it is expected to have an improved implementation in the new generation. As a result, the borders are expected to be only 1.2 mm, with all sides symmetrical.

Xiaomi 16 may maintain compact version
After recent rumors suggested that Xiaomi would abandon compact flagship smartphones, new information from Singh points to the contrary.

As the launch of the Xiaomi 16 series is still months away, the technical specifications of the devices are still unknown. However, they are expected to come with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 processors as the main performance components.
Given that the platform is expected to be announced only in the last quarter of this year, the Xiaomi 16 is not expected to arrive before then. However, the advanced smartphone line from the company is expected to be updated with the Xiaomi 15S Pro as early as April.
